Updated April 15, 2020 - With current health and safety recommendations designed to slow the spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) and to protect the health and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and guests, UC Berkeley has moved all instruction and other functions to remote operations.
At Berkeley Haas, community means everything to us, whether it’s coffee before class in our courtyard, hiking in the hills just behind campus, or having Dialogues over Dinner to discuss identity and inclusion.
Unfortunately, in light of the public health situation, we are taking steps to shift how we approach community-building until public health leaders tell us it's safe to bring people together again physically.
All admissions events, class visits, and in-person new admit events are canceled for the time being. We will be working over the coming days to convert as many in-person events as possible into online events. Once those plans have been finalized, we will share the details with you.
Employees in the admissions offices for all MBA programs are now working remotely. Despite the changing circumstances, we’re here for you and continue to be available virtually for any of your questions.
The Educational Testing Service announced that an online version of the GRE and TOEFL is now available in the United States, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong (China) and Macau (China), and will likely be extended to other areas soon. The Graduate Management Admissions Council has also announced that an online version of the GMAT exam is now available. Berkeley Haas will accept the online version of either exam.
Given the worldwide disruptions caused by COVID-19, we know that it has been a challenging time for everyone. Please know that all of us remain available and look forward to staying in contact with you. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as everyone adapts to a rapidly changing environment. Take care of yourself and your own communities — it's the Haas way.
Read below for program specific updates. We'll be posting updates here as the situation evolves and we have more information to share. We will also be sharing updates via email.

Accelerated Access, a new Berkeley Haas program, will give undergraduates the option of applying early for a coveted spot in the full-time MBA program and deferring for two to five years to gain the required professional experience. The program is initially open only to UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students in their final year of study, with a plan to expand to students throughout the University of California system and then more broadly in the future.
Deadlines remain unchanged and are April 2 for Round 1 and June 11 for Round 2.
Standardized Tests: We acknowledge that many standardized test centers are closed. If you plan to apply in the first round and have completed all other application elements, you may still submit by April 2 and complete the exam at the earliest possible date in the future, but no later than May 21. You're encouraged to register now while dates are still available. On the application, add a "0" as the score received. This will alert us to watch for your test scores to arrive. Also please email us with your unofficial scores once you have completed the test. The unofficial score will be added to your application while we wait for your official score to arrive.
If you plan to apply in the second round, the timeline is unchanged and the standardized test must be completed on or before June 11.
Letters of Recommendation (LORs): The letters of recommendation provide valuable insight into your character and achievements and are an important part of our evaluation. Please encourage your recommenders to submit their LORs as close to the April 2 or June 11 deadline as possible. Although we will accept your application without the recommendations, a review of your candidacy will be delayed until both LORs have been received. It is your responsibility to follow-up with your recommender.
Throughout this time, we are available to connect with you virtually. We will continue to monitor and promptly respond to all emails sent to accelerate@haas.berkeley.edu.
