After the MFE, Park started a career in structured products at S&P as a quantitative analyst. He then spent 4 years at Moody's as a Non-Agency RMBS rating analyst and loan-level researcher, which led him to trade Non-Agency RMBS papers at two different sell side banks for several years: KeyBanc Capital Markets and RBC Capital Markets. Park applied his quantitative skills for pricing mortgage credit as well as optimizing trading strategies that led to successful P&L.
Recently, he moved to Hunt Financial Securities (HFS) as a senior trader to build up their Mortgage Credit and Collateralized Loan Obligation secondary trading business. Just months into his trading position, Park was promoted to Managing Director, effective December 1, 2017. Park appreciates the impact the Berkeley MFE had on his career and recognizes its utility in industry:
"The MFE was the start of my successful journey - I can't say that all courses and skills have been fully utilized, but a large portion of them has helped me on a daily basis to get where I am today. And for that, I am indebted to the MFE Program."
