In quantitative finance, timing is everything. Markets reward preparation and so does your career.
Applying earlier to the UC Berkeley Haas Master of Financial Engineering program is not only a way to secure an offer of admission, but also activate the next phase of your journey sooner than later. In return, you’ll gain access to the full strength of the Haas ecosystem before stepping foot into campus.
What happens after you commit to the UC Berkeley Haas MFE?
Career Services engagement swiftly begins. Students are provided with our specialized resume template, individualized resume reviews, and one-on-one strategy sessions with our Director of Career Services, Vash Doshi. Our earlier commits are invited to exclusive firm events and virtual networking sessions, onboarded onto our private job platform for curated roles, and introduced to recruiting cadence definitive of quant finance.
Once a student meets with Career Services and concludes resume review, they are promoted to our employer network. Internship recruiting times move quickly, and many opportunities cease early. Having access to preparation material, employer introductions, and structured guidance months ahead create a measurable advantage for recruiting. In fact, members of our upcoming MFE27 class have already secured internship offers in top firms such as J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and PanAgora Asset Management across research and trading prior to matriculation.
Early admission paves a clear path in an already uncertain market for our students. Rather than having to navigate through ambiguity, you can transition into the summer with a clear sense of direction, access to scholarship planning, and time to build technically for the rigor ahead. With much recruiting preparation undergone, early matriculants can begin reviewing course material, engaging with alumni, and building industry relationships with their partners before even arriving at Berkeley.
The Berkeley Haas edge lies in our ability to integrate. Academically rigorous, strategically career focused, and an interconnected network, it all operates in tandem starting from day one. The earlier you apply, the more seamless that integration becomes.
So what are you waiting for? Round 2 applications are open and due on April 1st. Begin your application and secure a spot in the next UC Berkeley Haas MFE cohort!
