Berkeley Cleans up in Clean Energy Competition

Interdisciplinary Berkeley teams shined in the recent semi-finals of a national competition on cleantech business plans.

Three of the teams heading to national finals in this Department of Energy competition are from UC Berkeley and two feature Berkeley MBA students. Among the Berkeley-Haas students squaring off at CalTech Aprill 30-May 1 are: Will Greene, MBA 13, part of Xite Solar whose technology improves the efficiency of thin film solar cells; and Ignacio Garcia-Ros, Chris Hallas, Reid Spolek, and Yuri Yakubov, all MBA 2013. They are part of Adaptation Energy, a team focused on wireless sensor networks that improve manufacturing productivity.

Judges in this high-stakes competition (prizes range from 40K-$100K) include Vinod Khosla. Learn more at this BERC news post.
